How Long Does It Take?

After Jacobs Web Design accepts your deposit and begins your website the time is dependant on a few factors.

  • We will first obtain from you, your Logo, letterhead, product pictures or products for photographing.  These items are the first of many items we will obtain from you, but are necessary to get the design started.
  • After we receive the items in #1, we begin designing the basic look of your site.  The basic design usually takes one to two weeks, and we present this basic design to you so you can see it and approve the basic look.

We allow minor changes, but after the basic design is approved, that's when we go forward to complete the site and from there on we are the experts in the design department.

That doesn't mean we won't listen to you, but it does mean that we won't be redesigning the site every week or so.

  • After the basic design is set, we then begin to obtain all the information that will be contained in your site.  The time on this is dependant on how quickly you get these items to us.

    These things will include:

  • Product write-ups, or write-ups on describing your service.

  • Essays on your service or products

  • Success stories from others that have used your product or service.

  • Specific pricing and shipping information for the order form.

  • If you want to gather information from your site visitors, you'll provide us with what questions you would like answered to obtain that data.

  • Other information as necessary.

  • The assembly of all the items you provide us, and finishing up the site usually is quite fast and can be as little as a week or so.

  • So the entire process can be as quickly as a couple weeks to as much as a few months, depending on how large your site is, and how quickly we receive the materials from you.   On average a medium site (10 - 20 pages) takes around 2 - 4 weeks.
